Awkwafina
American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous hip-hop tracks that addressed sexuality and racial identities with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants and Koreans. The classical, jazz, and hip-hop studies began when she was just a teenager. While in college, she took classes in journalism and women's studies. In addition, she spent a short time studying Mandarin in Beijing. Not until after graduation did she begin to concentrate on music. The My Vag song, My Vag which was her response to Mickey Avalons My Dick, became a popular viral sensation on the Internet and eventually appeared on her debut album Yellow Ranger. This album also featured songs that were viral such as body positive Queef or the winking city tour NYC Bitche$. The second track linked into Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide published in the year 2015, and was a different idea. With musician and author on her resume she began looking for an actor for a third venture. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors to Storks. In 2018, she landed a number of major roles like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she released the EP In Fina We Trust.
